Overview
This is an online study site for all four books of New Concept English. It plays the American-accent audio for each text, lets you tap any sentence to play it and repeat after it, and shows English and Chinese side by side line by line. It is a static site written in HTML, CSS and JavaScript that works in a browser on phones, tablets and computers. Chinese subtitles were generated by an AI and may contain a few errors.
Key features
- Audio reading of texts in American English
- Tap any sentence to play it for shadowing practice
- Sentence-by-sentence English and Chinese display
- Player is separate from content, so extra books can be added as a folder with book.json, MP3 and LRC files
- Responsive layout with nothing to install
Best for
Self-learners working through New Concept English, from beginners on book one to advanced learners on book four. Note that the Chinese lines are AI generated and may have small mistakes.
