Overview
celld is a self-hosted Rust daemon for running Cloudflare Workers applications across your own machines. It supports Workers, Durable Objects, KV, Queues, D1, R2, Workflows, Cron Triggers and static assets from an existing wrangler.json. Each cell is a named server with its own SQLite database. Nodes sharing an object-storage bucket form a fleet that handles ownership, replication and failover without a serving control plane or consensus service.
Key features
- Runs Workers applications and related bindings on self-managed machines
- Provides cells with SQLite state, ownership and failover across nodes
- Stores deployments and long-term state in S3-compatible, Google Cloud Storage or Azure Blob Storage
- Supports replication through LTX logs and signed peer HTTP
- Deploys from an existing wrangler.json configuration
Best for
Use it when you want to run compatible Cloudflare Workers workloads on your own infrastructure with distributed state and replaceable nodes. It is not intended for products that require the Cloudflare network, GPUs or a browser farm.
